J. Sherwin. (Two rings around shoulder). (Tasmania). Pottery. Tasmanian. Reddish top, Orange body. Impressed. 165 mm. 165 mm. 1840s-1850s
Fair. (5). Heavy wear around upper lip with shallow glaze flaking. Some flaking and wear to the shoulder as well. The body is extensively flaked, this is worst on the lower half, but flakes elsewhere as well. Some are a bit bigger than flakes, forming chips. Glaze is flaked under the base as well. This extensive flaking was likely caused by the contents, not sure what it held but it has a distinct greasy odour. Estimate: $200-300
